June 15th You Can Make A Neighborhood Preserve A Nicer Place To Visit

The morning of 6/15/19 you are invited to make a difference in a CALC nature preserve.

The Carl T. Johnson CALC Nature Preserve on S. 33 Road needs a spring facelift and your capable hands can make the difference.

If you saw our recent newsletter you know that Will Gullekson and his Boy Scout troop are building signs and benches for the preserve. The volunteer work bee at the preserve will be to install the signs and benches on June 15th at 9:30 AM. Come any time that morning because there will be lots to do! We have wood chips that need to be hauled and spread. We need to place large tree parts on each side of the trail to outline the trail. The barbed wire needs to be taken off posts to wind up to recycle. There will be other things that if you’ve noticed it needs doing, we welcome you to jump right in.

Please dress appropriately and bring tools.

From the corner of M-115 and M-55, take M-55 to S. 33 Rd, which only turns left. The preserve will soon be on your left.
