June 15th You Can Make A Neighborhood Preserve A Nicer Place To Visit

The morning of 6/15/19 you are invited to make a difference in a CALC nature preserve. The Carl T. Johnson CALC Nature Preserve on S. 33 Road needs a spring facelift and your capable hands can make the difference. If you saw our recent newsletter you know that Will Gullekson and his Boy Scout troop are building signs and benches for the preserve. Clam River Cleanup

There will be a Clam River cleanup on May 11th and we are looking for volunteers. Meet at the Cadillac Junior High School at 8:30. The cleanup of the Clam River from Lake Cadillac to Boon Road should end around noon. Volunteers Needed at the Johnson Preserve

CALC needs volunteers to spread wood chips on a trail at the Johnson Preserve on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 9:30 AM. When you arrive, you will find volunteers directing you where your help is needed as soon as you see the hardwoods off the south entrance on 33 Road. Volunteers Needed for Planting at the Johnson Preserve

May 5th, CALC needs volunteers to plant shrub seedlings, along with placing tree tubes and weed barrier mats. There will be dense planting coverage for over 1.1 acres. Many hands will make light work. We will start in the morning and work until all the shrubs are planted. Any drop-in effort would be appreciated. No special skills are needed and everyone is welcome. The endowment fund for the Conservancy at the Cadillac Area Community Foundation provides funds for the future protection of our easements. An endowment is a fund where the principal (gifts to the fund) is never spent; only the growth on the fund is distributed. Endowments to this fund allow the Cadillac Area land Conservancy to provide responsible stewardship now and into the future.
