Cadillac Area Land Conservancy installs raptor nesting platform to conserve species

To help conserve ospreys and eagles, volunteers with the nonprofit Cadillac Area Land Conservancy erected a raptor nesting platform in the marsh behind their Waldeck Island Nature Preserve on Stone Ledge Lake. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources provided the platform and guided volunteers with the installation. CALC 2019 Annual Meeting Attracted Age-Diverse Crowd

Debra-Ann Brabazon from the United States Forest Service gave an inspiring presentation entitled “Engaging Community in Sustainability.” The community Debra-Ann has been inspiring is the CHS Ecology Club & Junior Rangers, a group of young adults who have participated in many environmental improvement projects. The public is invited to an informative and fun annual meeting on October 10, 2019, at 6:00 PM. Give Invasive Species the Brush Off

Thank you to the Wexford Conservation District for donating two shoe brush stands to CALC! Hikers can now brush off the bottom of their shoes before and after each hike to prevent the spread of invasive plant species. An invasive species is an organism that is not native and has negative impacts on the economy, environment, or human health. To find out more, click here.
