Johnson Autumn Olive

Invasive or Scenic?   On the CALC Johnson Nature Preserve (on 33 Road near Benson Rd. in Cadillac) Autumn Olive is easy to see and there's lots of it. Left unattended it has gotten out of control. In these photos volunteers are experimenting with how best to control it. Follow the Yellow Brick Road – October 23rd

At Waldeck Island Nature Preserve the trail to the Sandy Hansen wildlife viewing platform is now coated with wood chips. It will make it easy to spot as you pull into the parking lot. Way-finding signs will be installed before our annual meeting on October 23rd. On that day everyone is invited to meet at the Clam Lake Township Hall at 1:00 to celebrate the new platform.
